Pandora Radio
If you’re a music lover and haven’t heard about Pandora Radio, you need to check it out. It’s an Internet radio station but it’s not your typical streaming music Web site. It builds a unique radio station around an artist or song that you pick and it suggests and plays other artists and songs that have similar sound qualities, including: melody, harmony, instrumentation, rhythm, vocals, lyrics,.. with close to 400 distinct musical characteristics. It’s based on the Music Genome Project, read more details about Pandora.
I have come across some great artists and songs that I otherwise wouldn’t have found, so definitely recommend checking it out. You create a free account, sign in, and let the musical adventure begin. Happy listening..

Sanibel Island Getaway Part 1
At the end of April, the Hurry family traveled back down to Sanibel Island, Florida. We were so blessed by our trip there last year and couldn’t wait to get back. Our week was filled with much relaxation as we enjoyed the local culinary delights and hung out at the beach. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, blue skies and sunny all week.
One of the highlights of the week was taking a cruise aboard the Pieces of Eight pirate ship. Ethan did great. He danced, clapped, got a pirate tatoo, got hazed a bit by the resident pirates, and he even got to grab some loot from the pirate treasure chest (check out the photos below to see some pics of the adventure)
(Video to come in Sanibel Island Getaway Part 2 post, stay tuned..)

Sustainable Faith- A Weekend of Refreshment and Encouragement
This past weekend we had the opportunity to go on a retreat with Sustainable Faith and spend a weekend away with our House Church. We traveled to Norwood, Ohio and spent two days at the geographical nexus of Vineyard Central, an urban network of house churches in central Cincinnati.
We had an amazing experience there and Dave and Jody Nixon were amazing hosts! Thank you both for your wonderful hospitalilty. We had the opportunity to spend some time with Dave in some guided discussion and we were very encouraged and challenged. The food was delicious and the coffee was great! They get their beans fresh each week and they’re roasted locally by La Terza. They also grind the beans with a burr grinder and the coffee is always fresh! (for you fellow coffee lovers out there) The weekend was filled with great fellowship and a highlight was getting to sing and play some music at Vineyard Central’s church building, St. Elizabeth. We got to go in by ourselves and worship together. It was a really cool experience (more pics below).

*If you, your family, or your church small group,.. are looking for a place to get away, unplug from the bustle of our busy culture, Sustainable Faith is a great place for it!

Balls, Doggies, and other Hurry Happenings
Hello dear friends and family, some Hurry family updates:
- Last month, we had the opportunity to go visit Bridget’s sister Jessica and her family in California and had a great trip. Steve had never met Avari, their youngest daughter, so was such a blessing for Uncle Steve to meet her. Bridget got invited to speak to the MOPS group at her sister’s church, Bayside Church in Roseville, CA. (Topic: Hormones, Where are they Taking Us) While we were there Bridget also got to go to a conference with Jessica, and I (Steve) got to do some snowboarding with my brother-in-law Chris at Sugar Bowl, just outside of Lake Tahoe. We had great snow conditions, sunny 70 degrees, no clouds at all. Was so nice to be on the mountain. Ethan and Isaac had a blast playing together all wknd as well. It was really neat seeing them interact. Here’s some pics from the wknd:
- Steve has a job update. He has switched to working part time at ServLife and is now working part time at our church, Common Ground, as well, helping with their Web site and doing some Mission admin. tasks.
- Bridget’s pregnancy is going well. She is about 27 weeks along now. We’re excited to meet our new little girl
. She’s still battling some nausea, so you can be lifting up some prayers for health and perseverance. - Ethan is doing great. Currently, he’s obsessed with balls of all shapes and sizes. First words through the monitor in the morning are usually “deeb dab doob dee baaaaaal” so cute, he draws out the word usually when he says it,
Anything round also gets called “Baaaaalll”. He also LOVES doggies. He can see a picture of a dog on a bumper sticker on a car in front of us while driving or see a billboard with a picture of a dog,..and he’ll yell out “Doooogggie”.
