Thought we would have a little fun on the Hurry Home and invite you to cast your vote for your favorite blanket with sleeves. I actually first came across the Slanket in an airline Sky Mall magazine, sitting in a domestic airport in India on a mission trip with a team. So funny,… We laughed so hard we cried. I was surprised to learn of the Snuggie recently when walking through a Target, there was a whole display of them! It’s been two weeks since Evelyn has been born and we’re starting to get into the flow as a family of four and navigate the sleepless haze, . We’ve been incredibly blessed with gifts and meals from family and friends, so thank you all! Ethan is fascinated by baby Evy (pronounced like Chevy, without the Ch), and you can hear him throughout the day saying “baby, baby,..” He likes pushing her swing, peering over the edge of her bed as she sleeps, putting Evy’s pacifier in her mouth, and climbing over Mom and Dad as we hold and feed her on the couch. He is really good with her and he’s going to be a great big brother.

I’m heading back to work tomorrow and have really enjoyed being with the family that past 2 weeks. Bridget will be home for another 6 weeks, so we’re excited about that. We wanted to share some pictures of Evelyn and the family from the first two weeks, including pics from the hospital, Ethan and Evelyn interacting, some full family pics,.. Hello dear friends and family. Please join us in welcoming our new baby girl, Evelyn Grace Hurry. She was born yesterday morning, June 8th, at 7:25 AM, weighing in at 7 Lbs and 20 inches long. Thank you for your prayers and support and be sure to check back for updates. Lots of great pictures and video to come.

One of Ethan’s favorite things for breakfast is Frosted Mini-Wheats. We put them in his little bowl with a little bit of milk and he gobbles them down. On his own, he has figured out how to drink the cereal milk when he’s finished. It’s really cute seeing him do it, with the bowl covering his face,.. caught it on video this morning.

If you’re a music lover and haven’t heard about Pandora Radio, you need to check it out. It’s an Internet radio station but it’s not your typical streaming music Web site. It builds a unique radio station around an artist or song that you pick and it suggests and plays other artists and songs that have similar sound qualities, including:  melody, harmony, instrumentation, rhythm, vocals, lyrics,.. with close to 400 distinct musical characteristics. It’s based on the Music Genome Project, read more details about Pandora.

I have come across  some great artists and songs that I otherwise wouldn’t have found, so definitely recommend checking it out. You create a free account, sign in, and let the musical adventure begin. Happy listening..

At the end of April, the Hurry family traveled back down to Sanibel Island, Florida. We were so blessed by our trip there last year and couldn’t wait to get back.  Our week was filled with much relaxation as we enjoyed the local culinary delights and hung  out at the beach. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, blue skies and sunny all week.

One of the highlights of the week was taking a cruise aboard the  Pieces of Eight pirate ship. Ethan did great. He danced, clapped, got a pirate tatoo, got hazed a bit by the resident pirates, and he even got to grab some loot from the pirate treasure chest (check out the photos below to see some pics of the adventure)
