Ethan’s First Haircut
It’s been a few months now, but we wanted to share Ethan’s first haircut experience with you all. We took him to Cookie Cutters, so he could get his first snip in style, sitting in a little red sports car.

Four Generations Come Together in Kansas, Ethan Meets Great Grandma
Last month, Bridget, Ethan, and I took a trip out to Kansas to see my Grandma. This was the first time Ethan got to meet his Great-Grandma and it was such a special time there. My Mom and one of my brothers (Greg) also flew out as well, so Ethan’s Great-Grandma, Grandma, and Mom were all together. We had a little birthday celebration for Ethan, with all of us decked out in Happy Birthday party hats with favors and we all enjoyed a delicious ice cream cake, courtesy of Great-Grandma.

Ethan’s First Birthday
Ethan’s first birthday was this past week! Hard to believe, but the little dude is becoming a big dude. He woke up on his birthday morning to Mommy and Daddy singing him a happy birthday duet and a room full of balloons to crawl through and bat with glee as he started off the day celebrating his first year of life. Bridget took the day off of work to celebrate Ethan’s birthday with him, and it was a fun-filled day of activity with Mommy, from going to the children’s museum, to bouncing around in his new ball pit, and ending the day diving into his chocolate Elmo cake. Pictures and video below, Happy Birthday Little Dude!!!

The Hurry’s Sanibel Vacation
We had the opportunity to spend a week down in Sanibel, Florida last month, and we had such an amazing trip. This was our first vacation with Ethan and his first time to the ocean and the beach, so some good family history in the making. We stayed at a beautiful home in Sanibel, right by Captiva, and it was great to get away from the daily grind and be together as a family here in paradise. We wanted to share a bit of our vacation experience with you through the video we took, along with some of the highlights and stories,.. it was quite the adventure. Enjoy!

Little Dude Standing
Life on the Hurry home front has been quite the adventure the past few weeks, as we are in the middle of selling and buying a new home. We’re due to close on our new home next week, so we’re very excited. Look forward to having you all over at the new place. We will send you all our new home address. Now we are in the midst of packing madness and taking care of all the details as we get ready to move. Last week, we were able to get away and take a family vacation in Sanibel, Florida, which was amazing! It was our first family vacation with Ethan and his first time to the ocean and beach. I should have a post up in the next week from our vacation with lots of video and great pics. Stay tuned!
Hard to believe, but our little man is 10 months old! He is now able to pull himself up pretty well and stand with a little balancing help. Check out this video and see him in action:

Australian Photographer to Check Out, Peter Lik
If you haven’t seen any of Peter Lik’s work, you need to check out his Web site, www.peterlik.com. You can also do an image search in Google and find all kinds of pictures, just search “Peter Lik”.
He’s an amazing panoramic photographer, mostly shooting landscape images. He is from Australia, but has since moved to the United States and has shot all over the country. I was first introduced to his photography by my friend Mike, when I went to visit him in Australia while he was studying there in 2001. I got an opportunity to visit Peter’s original gallery in Cairnes, in North East Australia, and Bridget and I went to his gallery in Maui in May of 2007. He has other galleries in Hawaii, Las Vegas, California, Colorado, Florida, one in New York soon to come,..So, if you get an opportunity to see his prints in person, it’s quite the experience. His work is pretty pricey, but you can get posters, calendars, postcards, coffee table books, etc.. relatively inexpensive. Check out the store on his Web site or elsewhere on the Internet. I included a few pics I found of his online and a promo video Peter has out on YouTube, enjoy!

Daddy and Ethan on the Didg
One of my favorite instruments I own is a didgeridoo I bought in Australia back in 2001, and I recently introduced Ethan (my little mate) to it, lol… Check out Ethan and Daddy on the Didg.

Ethan Breakin’ Beats on the Djembe with Daddy (Video)
Check out this video of Ethan jammin’ on the Djembe with Daddy. My favorite part is around (2:15) after he gets warmed up a bit, when he throws a few double beats and starts doing the hand slide across the drum face, he’s a natural… A little percussionist in the making, training him up early.
