We traveled to Norwood, Ohio and spent two days at the geographical nexus of Vineyard Central, an urban network of house churches in central Cincinnati.

We had an amazing experience there and Dave and Jody Nixon were amazing hosts! Thank you both for your wonderful hospitalilty. We had the opportunity to spend some time with Dave in some guided discussion and we were very encouraged and challenged. The food was delicious and the coffee was great! They get their beans fresh each week and they’re roasted locally by La Terza. They also grind the beans with a burr grinder and the coffee is always fresh! (for you fellow coffee lovers out there) The weekend was filled with great fellowship and a highlight was getting to sing and play some music at Vineyard Central’s church building, St. Elizabeth. We got to go in by ourselves and worship together. It was a really cool experience (more pics below).

*If you, your family, or your church small group,.. are looking for a place to get away, unplug from the bustle of our busy culture, Sustainable Faith is a great place for it!

They are close to reaching their target fundraising goals, but they are still in need of some final support. Please pray and/or consider financially partnering with their ministry. Here’s a bit about what they’re doing:

“Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) provides vital aviation and radio communications services to national churches, the Flying Doctor Service, Christian missions, and non-government organizations (NGOs) ministering in Lesotho. They will live in the capital city, Maseru, and fly 5 days/week into the mountains to serve the Basotho people, in addition to being on-call Saturday and Sunday for emergency medical flights. They will be gone for 3.5 years before returning to the states for a 6 month furlough. When they first arrive, Jason will begin getting checked out at the difficult mountain “runways” and they will both start learning the Sesotho language. ”

Some Sobering Lesotho Facts:

Lesotho is a mountainous country, similar in size to Maryland, made up of tiny, often inaccessible villages.

Nearly half of all the native Basotho people are unemployed.

26% of the population is currently malnourished.

Less than 10 % of the land is arable (suitable for growing crops).

As much as 32% of Lesotho’s population is infected with the HIV/AIDS virus.

100,000 HIV/AIDS orphans live in mountain villages with little or no access to medical services.

Here’s what they need financially to reach their monthly support target goals, they hope to have their funding in full by April 1st (They are currently at 83 % of their monthly target goal):

4 donors @ $10/month

8 donors @ $25/month

5 donors @ $50/month

4 donors @ $100/month

2 donors @ $200/month
= $1290/month
