Dear friends and family we want to share some exciting news with you all, we’re expecting!! Bridget is about 12 weeks along and is due in the middle of June. We invite your prayers and support as we prepare for the arrival of this wonderful gift.

We recently got some new pics from our family photographer, Brandy Cunningham. She wrote a post on her site after the shoot, check it out. She has been our photographer since before we were married, so we highly recommend her if you are in need of photography. Thanks again for the great images Brandy.

In our family, we have a tradition when we celebrate birthdays. We don’t just celebrate on the birthday, but we celebrate “birthday week”, starting 3 days before and 3 days after the birthday. Bridget celebrated her birthday this past weekend, and as birthday week comes to an end, I invite you to join me in wishing Bridget Happy Birthday!

(Look close at the top of the leaf pile) We got around to doing some leaf blowing in our front yard today and the result was the biggest leaf pile I’ve ever seen! After Ethan woke up from his nap, Mommy and him came outside and Ethan had quite the leaf pile experience. The pile was so big, it attracted some of the neighbors and their children on our street, and we all had a blast hanging out together. After we left to head to a friend’s house for the Colt’s game, our neighbors gave us an incredible gift and bagged almost all of our leaves!! Thank you so much for serving our household, you all rocked our world when we pulled in the driveway.

Last month we had the opportunity to travel to Colorado and spend time with friends and family in Boulder and Aspen. It was such an amazing trip. Our journey started off a little chilly and wet as we landed, and in a place that boasts 300 days of sunshine a year, you would think showing up in short sleeves and shorts would be alright, but that’s what I get for not checking the weather. As is the nature of the weather in Colorado, quickly turned to sunshine within the next day.

Our stay in Boulder was great and we got to spend some time with friends there. One of the highlights was getting take out from our favorite restaurant in Boulder, Sherpas, and we warmed our bellies with some Yak stew, delicious,… We then made the drive over independence pass through hail and every kind of adverse condition you can imagine (we passed a car that was flipped over) and we arrived in Aspen safely. We stayed with Bridget’s Aunt and Uncle and some other family friends that were there for the extended wknd as well. Such a beautiful city. We ate many a good meal (including eating at famous Woody Creek Tavern), took regular walks through town and surrounding parks, and we even hiked up a trail toting Ethan on our back, so quite the adventures. In celebration of our recent anniversary, we thought we would share classic before and after pics, back when Steve was an aspiring Top Gun pilot and Bridget was dreaming of going to Space Camp and becoming an astronaut.

Last month, Bridget, Ethan, and I took a trip out to Kansas to see my Grandma. This was the first time Ethan got to meet his Great-Grandma and it was such a special time there. My Mom and one of my brothers (Greg) also flew out as well, so Ethan’s Great-Grandma, Grandma, and Mom were all together. We had a little birthday celebration for Ethan, with all of us decked out in Happy Birthday party hats with favors and we all enjoyed a delicious ice cream cake, courtesy of Great-Grandma.

Bridget and I just celebrated our our 3 year anniversary this week!!! This is a special one for us as our favorite number is the number 3. A dear friend of ours came and watched Ethan while Bridget and I went out for a very delicious dinner, at this seafood place by our house. One of the gifts I gave Bridget was a set of pictures, collages containing pics. from before and during our marriage, from when we were dating, vacations, family trips, and everything in between, and we wanted to share the images with you. Ethan’s first birthday was this past week! Hard to believe, but the little dude is becoming a big dude. He woke up on his birthday morning to Mommy and Daddy singing him a happy birthday duet and a room full of balloons to crawl through and bat with glee as he started off the day celebrating his first year of life. Bridget took the day off of work to celebrate Ethan’s birthday with him, and it was a fun-filled day of activity with Mommy, from going to the children’s museum, to bouncing around in his new ball pit, and ending the day diving into his chocolate Elmo cake. We did a little family photo shoot a few months back in the front yard of our old house. Ethan is about 9 months here. Hard to believe, but he will be a year old in July!
