We got some updated family pics taken last month by our photographer, Brandy Cunningham. As always, she does amazing work, we highly recommend her. Ethan just turned 2 and Evelyn is about 6 weeks old in these pictures. She has already gotten bigger since these pics. More Hurry Happenings and updates coming soon. Enjoy!

Evelyn’s First Two Weeks
It’s been two weeks since Evelyn has been born and we’re starting to get into the flow as a family of four and navigate the sleepless haze,
. We’ve been incredibly blessed with gifts and meals from family and friends, so thank you all! Ethan is fascinated by baby Evy (pronounced like Chevy, without the Ch), and you can hear him throughout the day saying “baby, baby,..” He likes pushing her swing, peering over the edge of her bed as she sleeps, putting Evy’s pacifier in her mouth, and climbing over Mom and Dad as we hold and feed her on the couch. He is really good with her and he’s going to be a great big brother.
I’m heading back to work tomorrow and have really enjoyed being with the family that past 2 weeks. Bridget will be home for another 6 weeks, so we’re excited about that. We wanted to share some pictures of Evelyn and the family from the first two weeks, including pics from the hospital, Ethan and Evelyn interacting, some full family pics,.. (“Evelyn and Friends” photo gallery and other video to come.)

Balls, Doggies, and other Hurry Happenings
Hello dear friends and family, some Hurry family updates:
- Last month, we had the opportunity to go visit Bridget’s sister Jessica and her family in California and had a great trip. Steve had never met Avari, their youngest daughter, so was such a blessing for Uncle Steve to meet her. Bridget got invited to speak to the MOPS group at her sister’s church, Bayside Church in Roseville, CA. (Topic: Hormones, Where are they Taking Us) While we were there Bridget also got to go to a conference with Jessica, and I (Steve) got to do some snowboarding with my brother-in-law Chris at Sugar Bowl, just outside of Lake Tahoe. We had great snow conditions, sunny 70 degrees, no clouds at all. Was so nice to be on the mountain. Ethan and Isaac had a blast playing together all wknd as well. It was really neat seeing them interact. Here’s some pics from the wknd:
- Steve has a job update. He has switched to working part time at ServLife and is now working part time at our church, Common Ground, as well, helping with their Web site and doing some Mission admin. tasks.
- Bridget’s pregnancy is going well. She is about 27 weeks along now. We’re excited to meet our new little girl
. She’s still battling some nausea, so you can be lifting up some prayers for health and perseverance. - Ethan is doing great. Currently, he’s obsessed with balls of all shapes and sizes. First words through the monitor in the morning are usually “deeb dab doob dee baaaaaal” so cute, he draws out the word usually when he says it,
Anything round also gets called “Baaaaalll”. He also LOVES doggies. He can see a picture of a dog on a bumper sticker on a car in front of us while driving or see a billboard with a picture of a dog,..and he’ll yell out “Doooogggie”.

Hurrys Chi-Town Adventure
Earlier this month, Bridget, Ethan and I spent the weekend in Chicago and introduced our little man to the “Windy City”. We got to get away as a family and experience Chicago together and it was great to see the city during the Christmas season, all decked out in holiday decorations.
We stayed at Hotel 71 which is in a great location downtown on the Chicago River, within walking distance to some downtown hot spots. We arrived on a Friday evening and started the wknd out with a pizza delivered from Giordano’s, one of our favorite Chicago pizza spots and spent the rest of the evening getting settled. The Hurry family loves pizza (especially Chicago style)!
Saturday, we got to spend the day walking around the city, checking out some shops. We took Ethan through Macys (Chicago’s original Marshall Fields) so he could see all the decorations and toys they had displayed. We also picked up some world famous Frangos Mint Meltaway Chocolates and stopped by the Walnut Room briefly to check out the amazing Christmas tree setup there. We then spent the remainder
of the morning in Millenium Park and had lunch at Park Grill, a restaurant right in front of Cloud Gate (otherwise known as “The Bean”. ) There was an outdoor ice skating rink right in front of the restaurant, so we had a great view of all the action from our window seat. We relaxed at the hotel in the afternoon and headed back out for the evening for a stroll down Chicago’s “Magnificent Mile” and had dinner at foodlife, located in Water Tower Place.
Sunday morning, we had breakfast at the Tempo Cafe, had some great food there and wrapped up our Chicago visit shortly thereafter. It was nice to get away for the weekend. Enjoy the pics!
