There is a Season, Turn, Turn, Turn…

Leaves, leaves and more leaves. That was story from this past fall. 100 bags and and 12 huge leaf piles later, we finally got them all bagged up! The kiddos joined in the effort this year and “helped rake.” Be sure to check out the full picture gallery below.

Saxophone Serenade

We went to a wedding of a good family friend last night and they had a great jazz band playing at the reception. See Evelyn get serenaded by the saxophone player, really cute.

Trick or Treat

Had a great time trick or treating with the kiddos last night! (See “More Candy” for last year’s adventures) This year, Ethan was a clown and Evelyn was a lion. We pulled them in their wagon, so they had a mobile oasis in between candy stops that was filled with snacks and tasty treats. Grandma saved my clown suit from when I was around Ethan’s age and she fixed it up a bit and brought it over this week for Ethan to wear. The costume Ethan is wearing is 30 years old! (minus the ruffle around my neck and the hip monkey hat) See the picture on the right of me when I wore it, :)

Evelyn Turns One

It’s hard to believe but our baby girl recently celebrated her first birthday! On the morning of her birthday, in line with our family tradition, we had the downstairs filled with balloons, and we greeted Evey with a family happy birthday ballad. It was cute seeing her crawl through the balloons and Ethan was enjoying them as much as she was (if not more), as he really likes ballooons.

We had a little celebration for her as a family on the day of her birthday, June 8th. Bridget made Evey a Hello Kitty cake and we opened up some of her presents. Evey definitely enjoyed her first chocolate cake experience. At the end of the birthday week, we had some family and friends over and had a little party for her. (Pictures below)

Evelyn is growing up quick! She can now stand up briefly on her own and she is starting to take some steps. She has mastered pulling herself up and is very mobile. She is vocal and definitely lets you know when she wants something. She’s putting together some small words and phrases in her cute Evey voice, “Peek a boo”, “Thank You”, “Please”,.. Much to our surprise, she crawled up a set of stairs on the lower level of our house. She heard Mommy and Ethan upstairs and wanted to be part of the action :)

More Candy

We all made it out for Halloween (Ethan’s third and Evelyn’s first, surpassed last year’s total of 2 houses!). Ethan had a dragon costume that he didn’t wear, so we ended up carrying it the whole evening and Evelyn was a bear, cute as ever. Be sure to check out the full album of pictures from the evening below.

We went out with Mike, Kari, and Eli Kuebler, good friends that live in our neighbor. Ethan was introduced to the “world of candy.” Though he was reluctant at first, once he took a bite of the first M & M, there was no turning back as went house to house,… “more candy”

Didgeridoo Tuba Duet Coming to a Neighborhood Near You

TubaDidgDuet-3 TubaDidgDuet-2 TubaDidgDuet

No, we’re not really coming to your neighborhood, well, not any time soon. Our neighbors are in the Indianapolis Symphony, and Tony and I decided to have a little fun and showcase our tuba and didgeridoo skills for the children on our block. As you can imagine, it was quite the draw. I then hopped on and played some Tuba and Tony taught me how to play Amazing Grace, good times.. If you know anyone looking for a Tuba Didg duet, we’re your guys!
